I’ve been dreaming of a book club like this since I started my coaching practice. For years, I enjoyed reading self-help books. I personally call them self-improvement books because I feel it’s more fitting for what we’re trying to accomplish, grow and be better humans.
I fell in love with self-improvement books during a difficult time in my life when I was overcome with anxiety. These books helped me understand what was going on in my mind and gave me the knowledge and tools to pull myself out of the anxiety and learn to manage it.
My vision for this book club is a safe space where we grow together through books, support, encouragement, inspiration, accountability, and a shit ton of fun! I hope you’ll join me.
Vicki’s book club was such a meaningful way to engage with The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. I love how she facilitated reflection through thoughtful questions in our group chat - they helped me pause, go deeper, and really consider how the book’s ideas applied to my own life. Even thought I only made it to one live session, it was such a rich discussion and gave me the chance to explore how others were integrating the theory, too. Without the group and Vicki’s prompts, I don’t think the concepts would’ve stuck with me as deeply. Her leadership and insights made all the difference.

What to expect
Book club meeting - The meetings will be 2 hours and limited to 10 people. During the first hour we’ll discuss the book. The second hour will be for hot-seat coaching from OR inner voicing with me on a topic related to the book.
Hot-seat coaching or inner voicing - An opportunity to receive coaching or connect with your Inner Voice.
Community - A private community on Google Spaces to connect with other like-minded individuals.
Reading plan - I’ll provide a weekly reading plan for the book to help keep you focused and accountable and to keep the group together. This plan will align with the weekly self-coaching prompts.
Weekly self-coaching prompts - Each week I’ll share self-coaching prompts related to the book.
Accountability and inspiration - A group of folks ready to inspire you, help hold you accountable, and celebrate your growth and wins!
Growth - Read the books, reflect on the messages, take action, learn from others, experience growth however that looks for you.
Safe space - A space to show up however you choose whether you’re a wallflower or a firecracker. The expectation is members will respect the book club etiquette and always choose kindness.
Short, impactful reads - Book choices will be kept at about 300 pages or less. My hope is this is a reasonable read that won’t impact your schedule too much. Book club members are responsible for getting access to the book choice.

This book club is not for
Negativity.
Disagreement can contribute to valuable discussion and insights AND it can also take away from the goal, which is to keep the conversation focused on the topic or area of growth. Both can be true. I want this book club to focus on the latter. We can’t grow if we’re complaining.
If you feel the book topic or area of growth doesn’t resonate with you, you can choose not to participate in the group discussion or attend the meeting.
We will not be critiquing the authour or the authour’s writing.
However, if you feel your comments will add value, please do your best to keep the critique minimal, helpful, and something that moves the conversation forward.
Thank you for offering this opportunity for self improvement and for the support it provides in a difficult time in our lives. I feel able to address problems with a different mindset because we discussed the book and looked at why it works!

Releasing the old, becoming something new.

-
Absolutely! This is a book club for you, so it’s important we select books that you’re interested in.

Right now there is a limit of 10 people as I experiment with the framework. And since there is a coaching element, I want to keep it small and welcoming so people feel comfortable and safe sharing.
